Changes to Broadcom VMware’s Partner Program: What you need to know

Broadcom has announced it will be closing the current Broadcom Advantage Partner Program for VMware partners on October 31, 2025, reducing the number of authorised partners across the region.
While full details of the new partner program are still to be released, we want to reassure our customers that Interactive remains an Authorised VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) partner under an updated Broadcom Advantage Partner Program framework, effective November 1, 2025. We were also recently named Broadcom’s 2024 APAC VCSP Partner of the Year – a reflection of our ongoing commitment to excellence and customer success.
According to Broadcom, this change is part of the organisations ongoing efforts to align the VMware partner ecosystem with its strategic efforts and the needs of customers.
What this means for you
You may be wondering how this affects your organisation. With a smaller number of authorised partners, many customers may need to reassess how they access, support, and transact with VMware and Broadcom solutions moving forward.
As an Authorised VMware VCSP partner, Interactive is well-positioned to guide you through this transition and ensure your business continues without disruption.
Key Takeways from Broadcom’s Announcement
- Partner Reduction: The new program significantly reduces the number of authorised partners, being a by-invitation only program. As a result on July 15, 2025 VCSP partners who are not invited to participate in the new Program for VCSP partners will be sent a notice of non-renewal.
- Transition Period Until 31 October, 2025: Non-invited partners can continue to transact until 31 October 2025. After that date, they may only service existing VCSP commitment contracts for the remainder of the current term. No new commitment contracts or renewals will be accepted for those partners.
- White Label Program Ending: Broadcom is also sunsetting the White Label model on 31 October 2025. The same transitional commercial conditions apply to White Label contracts as stated above.
- Immediate Impact: Departing partners are encouraged to work with authorised VCSP partners to ensure a smooth transition for customers who seek to renew a service at the end of their current term.
- Shift Toward Hyperscale Private Compute: Broadcom is reshaping its vision for private compute, whereby VMware Cloud Foundations 9 underpins a small number are hyperscale private cloud platforms in each region. A future where customers buy managed infrastructure from partners like Interactive to support their compute requirements.
Potential Impacts for your Business
For some customers whose partners are no longer part of the partner program, this could affect:
- Your ability to renew licenses through your existing partner
- The support and service quality you’ve come to expect
- Potential delays or confusion during upcoming renewals or service requests
- Potential cost increases as partner consolidation may led additional costs for migration and re-onboarding, and reduced bundling options that previously allowed for greater cost efficiencies
If you’re an impacted partner, we’re open to working collaboratively to support your customers and maintain trusted relationships – without disruption
